8:30 a.m.

Woke up early this morning for some reason. Getting a taxi was a mission; I guess becasue roads are busier at 8:15 a.m. than at my usual time of 9:30 a.m.

The dude had the aircon so cold that when I climbed out of the car my sunglasses misted up before I had even swung the door fully open.

Have you experienced taxi drivers who make you question your ability to communicate? KL seems to have lots of them, or rather, I seem to have encountered more than one. You ask the driver to turn right (or left or go straight) and he will ask numerous times: right ah? RIGHT ah? RIGHT AH? It takes a loud and authoritative "yes" to convince him that "right" is what you said and that he should definitely turn right. This questioning is nerve wracking. For one it leaves me nervous and unsure of whether I actually want to go right(especially since my sense of direction isn't great)And then it makes me wonder if I can't clearly say "please turn right" in simple English. These guys do know how to use terror tactics.
